Antonio Vivaldi 1678-1740: Concerto In G Major For Two Mandolins Strings and basso continuo RV 532 II. Andante This is the slow movement from Vivaldis Double Mandolin Concerto in G Major. While the concerto as a whole is written for two mandolins two violins viola and basso the Andante is effectively a mandolin trio as the basso is tacet and the violins and viola play a pizzicato part in unison. My recording is based on the score and parts from IMSLP: Im playing the two mandolin parts on a nylgut-strung bowlback mandolin and a vintage Italian bowlback mandolin for contrast in tone.
