Week 1 Day 3 + our first lab day! Today we learned three things: 1) How to make variables in C++. This requires three parts: A) a name, B) a type, C) a default value. The types we learned today are 'int' (holds whole numbers) and 'float' (holds numbers with decimals). There's lots more. Example: int year = 2000; This creates an integer named year and sets it to the value of 2000. 2) Algebra. There are five basic arithmetic operators in C++: +,-,*,/, and %. % is the only one that needs explanation - it is the remainder operator. So if you do a 23 % 5, you will get 3. Why?
