16 volt DC-AC Power Inverter Part 1

Time to connect the 1000 watt power inverter to the 16 volt lithium battery bank and see if it works. The TrippLite APS1012SW power inverter is rated up to 16 volts DC input. My Maxwell super capacitor battery bank is rated up to 16.2 volts. This was the inspiration for the 16 volt 4S lithium ion battery bank. I wanted to get some experience with the lithium ion battery technology while utilizing the equipment I already had in my 12 volt solar power system. I finally finished up my new bus bar system that should be able to handle the high current draw of the power inverter. I use 1 25mm square aluminum bar stock for the load and battery bus bars. The 175A and 350A Anderson PowerPole connectors use 12 aluminum pins to connect to the bus bar all connections coated in OxGuard anti-oxidant compound. On the battery bus I have multiple plugs which can feed two groups of batteries. Each group will have 4 or 5 0.5KWH battery modules attached. I think my solar shed will be able to fit up to 16KWH of battery capacity or 32 modules so there should be plenty of connections for the future. More to come...
