This Issue: 12 Australian Columbia DOX-196 Matrix AX5574 The Three Musketeers is a musical show that originated on Broadway but premiered in the Drury Lane theatre in Londons West End in March 1930. The show was written by William McGuire with music and lyrics by Rudolf Friml P.G.Wodehouse and Clifford Grey and was based on the classic Alexander Dumas novel about the exploits of the three musketeers and their fights with Cardinal Richelieu and other foes in the 17th century. The show had a successful run of 242 performances. Raymond Newell 1894-1977 was an English born baritone and actor and played the role of Aramis in the show. Recorded and processed from an original vintage 78 by myself.,
