Solar eclipse recorded at Lamy Ridge Observatory outside Santa Fe New Mexico. The eclipse is an annular eclipse in which the moon does not completely cover the disk of the sun leaving a ring of fire. The eclipse ended at sunset at this location with the sun setting behind the Jemez mountains to the west of Santa Fe. The movie is made of a sequence of still photos taken through a StellarVue refracting telescope mounted to a Canon EOS 40D digital SLR camera. A glass solar filter was used on the front of the telescope. The telescope was mounted on an unguided mount. PIPP software was used to align the images which were then combined in iMovie.,
